My 2012 Word.
FOCUS.
This applies to many, MANY aspects of my life!! :)
I need to set my focus back onto my photography.
Onto scrapbooking and documenting the story of our life.
Onto redefining who I am.
And, definitely, I need to focus on revamping my blog!! LOL!
I think this is the perfect word for me!

Yes, I am among the living..........

Monday, November 28, 2011

I know it's been a LONG time since I posted.
SO much has happened over the last year or so.
Life altering changes!
Upon reflection, these changes were a long time coming.
In fact, some of these changes were the best thing that has ever happened to me! :)

Right now, I am sitting here watching one of my new favorite shows on DVD:
The Big Bang Theory!
This show cracks me up!
Trust me, I am enjoying watching this episode....much better than packing up the apartment and getting ready to move.

Yes, I am moving again!

This time to a cute little house, filled with a lot of character!!!
And, I'm going to have a yard again.
I can't wait to plant some winter flowers!

And, I have an end of the year resolution........
to get back into scrapbooking, photography,
AND blogging!!!

I'm back....

Cabo San Lucos....
That is where I was last week.
This was the view from my hotel room. Alas, I have the life.
It was a much needed vacation. Plenty of relaxation.
And, I swear, I drank more this past week than I've drank in the last
TEN YEARS!!
Yes, you read that right.
:D
But, I drank responsibly.
I also learned how to make killer guacamole from scratch. Yum!
Real, authentic guacamole and salsa verde are to die for!

I had a blast!! We ate at Mi Casa one night, and then partied at
the Cabo Wabo Cantina later that night!
For anyone who is not aware....
the Cabo Wabo Cantina is the bar that
Sammy Hagar (formerly of Van Halen) owns.
They make the BEST Midori sours there!!
And the house band......
Well, they rocked!!!

I really had mixed feelings about coming back.
I was so relaxed, but I missed my girls terribly....
SO glad to be back. Alas, I now have a week of work....
THEN
I'm leaving for Key West!

It truly sucks not to be me!!!

Thankful Friday

Friday, May 7, 2010

My friend, Yvonne, had a great idea. Not that she doesn't have them, but
this one is a good one.
She's blogging once a week about 5 things she is thankful for.
And, I will try (we know how that goes).
I am always thankful for my friends and family. You all mean so much to me, BUT...
I admit, I'm not going to bring you up every week.
If I do, I'm afraid no one will want to read my blog anymore because
they'll be SO sick of reading about you! :D
This week, I am thankful for:
- a good meeting on Monday,
- being able to go and see Alice in Wonderland, AGAIN, with daughter #2,
- an uneventful visit to the dentist with Bo,
- actually being able to sleep through the night,
AND
- finding out I am going to Cabo San Lucos on an ALL EXPENSE paid trip in one month!!!
(tell me this one isn't the best?)

The boy cousins

Monday, April 19, 2010

These boys are my nephews
(minus 1, but he's very uncooperative. He's 1...that should explain it.)
All of them are very well minded and respectful.
Full of mischief and a zest for life.
Most of all, they are friends.
I love each and every one of them!

It's a beautiful day!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Ever feel like life is crashing down on you? I seem to have those days ALL the time!
But, today.
Ah, today was a great day!
I got SO much accomplished. I feel refreshed and revitalized.
There is a light at the end of my tunnel.
I have been in "limbo" for so long,
and
it's such a nice feeling to realize that life does go on
(and I mean this in a good way).

I spent the weekend at the beach with my girls, my sisters, and their families.
Eight children.
YES.
EIGHT children went.
Everything is so much more intense with eight kids around.
They cry.
They whine.
They fight.
They spill things....everywhere.
And, yet, it was a very relaxing time.
Totally enjoyed the beach.
Soaked up some rays.
Had very stimulating conversations.
Watched kids.
Took pictures.
Searched for seashells.
And, took LOTS of pictures.
Like over 350 pictures!!!
(will post some of these at a later time, as they are a "surprise")

All in all,
I had a GREAT day!

It's been a long time

Monday, March 15, 2010

Wow!
Can you believe it's been over a month since i posted? (OK, girls, I KNOW you believe it, but, hey,
give me a break here!)

Went out with some friends this past weekend. Celebrated Lisa's birthday! Had a blast! Starting to feel free and exhilarated! So many things going on!

Hate the daylight savings time. Ok, I really like the fact that it's lighter later, but HATE the fact
that I lose an hours of sleep.
And, if that isn't bad enough, Bo is sick.
Fever. Chills.
Sore throat.
I was up all night with her last night. Poor thing.
When I finally fell asleep, I woke up about a half hour later and checked on her.
She was awake. Lying in bed. Smiling.
Playing with her stuffed rabbit, Hobby Lobby
(the rabbit's name is a whole other story).

Went to Atlanta a few weeks ago with my friend, Lisa!
WOW!
What an absolutely beautiful city!!
Ate some wonderful Mexican and Italian food.
Window shopped.
Went to a 3-story Target for diapers (a birthday present for
my 1-year-old nephew ~ this was a request from his
mother, my sister).
Was going to learn some new things in Photoshop from
Lisa's sister, Kristen, but she got sick while we were up there.
Major bummer!
However, we plan to go back up there in the near future.

Otherwise, not much else going on here.
The girls are doing good in school.
Work is work (enough said).
Life is good.
And, I'm happy!
Happier than I have been in the last few years.
I feel as if a heavy burden has been lifted off of my shoulders, and
I'm learning to be me again, and I'm loving it!!!

The NoT-so-ChriStmas PiC

Sunday, January 31, 2010

For those of you who know me, you KNOW I take annual Christmas picture!
I have taken these pictures
EVERY YEAR
since Syd was born.

This year, I just couldn't seem to muster up the enthusiasm to take the picture
BEFORE Christmas. And, I admit, it was either
TOO COLD,
TOO RAINY,
or
the kids were TOO SICK
to take the picture.

So, on the one nice day, we had on New Year's Eve,
I
FINALLY
got their pictures taken!

And,
THIS
is what I came up with!

BURPS AND KISSEY-LIKE

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I picked up Bo from school today.

Bo: "Mommy? Do you know what happens to burps when they're done?"
Me: "Um, no."
Bo: "They go up into your mouth and then into your brain! That's why you act goofy sometime!!"

Then, when I picked Syd up from school today, I got enlightened.

Apparently, Syd's friends, Gabby and Kaitlin, got into a fight on the playground today. When I asked Syd what it was about, she said it was over a boy Gabby liked.

Syd: "Gabby just doesn't like him. She kissey-likes him!"

Kissey likes? Per Syd, there is a difference if you just like someone versus if you kissey-like someone.

The impending holidays.....

Friday, December 18, 2009

I really can't say I'm excited about Christmas this year. Not that I get totally ecstatic about Christmas any year....BUT, this will be my first Christmas morning without kids (well, prior to having children). The soon-to-be-ex will be getting them Christmas Eve. And, I honestly can say, this doesn't really bother me at all. The thought of being able to sleep in on Christmas morning is absolutely bliss.....

I just can't get into the holiday buying. My girls tend to get A LOT of gifts! I mean, A LOT!! Not from me (or previously "us"), but from my family and his. What is a mom to do with all that stuff? Good thing is, the stuff can be split up at different houses now.....hence, that means, anything I don't really want at my house, can go to his!! HA! That means....hmmmm......the talking doll? the one that poops and pees? Sounds like a good toy to have at dad's house! Hey, this may be fun!! LOL!

And, I have decided. I am NOT sending out Christmas cards this year. Don't really want to. But, I will be taking the annual Christmas picture! I already have THE idea buzzing around my head. Can't wait to actually do it. Maybe this weekend. AFTER Yvonne and I make peppermint bark! SO looking forward to this!

Been working on my photography skills. Am really needing a new camera, as there are little quirks on mine, and my focusing points are slowly going. Alas, this will have to wait. Too many other things that I need to take care of.

AND, my little sister, Sha, is getting married next June to Wesley! Such a great guy! And, he treats her SO good.

Promise to post some more pictures soon! As I took some awesome ones recently of another couple!

wow.....

Thursday, November 19, 2009

I admit. I haven't felt like blogging in quite some time. I have been SO preoccupied with life situations, which have seemed to take the everyday "joys" out of my life. But let's not dwell on that.

Just got home. Just saw New moon.
EARLY!!!!
May I say,
IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!

I have plans to take the girls tomorrow night. That is, if the theater isn't sold out already.
WOW!
Bo is SO going to go crazy!!
In fact, Syd, my 7-year-old, came home with a present for me last week.
My very OWN New Moon poster of Jacob!
I have to say, I thought it was very sweet of her.
(She did say she wanted to buy me a poster of Edward, but they were all gone.)
But, um...
where am I suppose to hang said poster?
In my room?
Like, I'm "old". I'm a mother. And, Jacob is like really, really young.
I have to say, I much prefer some man candy like
Paul Walker.

I must say, this "boy" really does it for me. I could look at him everyday!

But, I digress...
Oh, I SO can't wait until tomorrow!!!

(and you girls thought I was going to post a picture of New Moon!!)

Oh, and I really, really liked this about the movie.....

Does that surprise anyone?

Little things make me happy.
Especially FORGOTTEN little things.
Like,
logging into i-tunes and having
the New Moon soundtrack that I pre-ordered....
downloading.
WOOHOO!
Very, very exciting!
(Especially since it was released four days early!)

Girls,
that means approximately one month, and it's the
New Moon Marathon!!

the BLAHS

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Ever have those days (or in some cases, weeks) where nothing seems to go right?
I'm having one of those.
Can't really pinpoint why I feel this way, but I do.

The DH is driving me freaking insane!!
Bo is too loud! Not to mention, she's SO whinny!
Syd is definitely my "light at the end of the tunnel", but
even she has been a smart mouth!
Work sucks (need I say more?)!!
And, I swear, I can't get anything accomplished!!

I just have the blahs...

Good news, though, I am going on Syd's field trip to the butterfly museum tomorrow!
Possibly some good, inspiration.
Bringing the camera, of course!
AND...
you can actually purchase a chrysallis (or two) to bring home....
and
then, watch it hatch.
SO doing that!!

Gonna try to post some pictures on my blog this weekend.
went to the beach last weekend in search of
SHARKS' TEETH.
Found 4.
Yes.
Only 4.
But, that's four more than I've found before!!
Had a great time.
Got a better tan.

Well, I'm off. To bed that is.
tired, and I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow!
Ciao!

Check this out!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Everyone knows that Donna Downey rocks! She is totally all inspiring and the fact that she likes vampire smut makes her so much better! Not to mention, her friendly personality and zany sense of humor!

I got to meet her at CHA this summer in Orlando! She's great!! Anyways, I dropped by her blog today, and look what I found! Marianne of Pickled Pear Lane has donated these wonderful fat quarters to be given away to one lucky person chosen off of Donna's blog!

So, I am keeping my fingers crossed, as this awesome fabric would look great in a project I am cooking up!!

My day started out...

Friday, August 28, 2009

Not good. I heard the damn cat out in the garage this morning. NOT a good thing, as when she is hungry, she has a tendency to meow, and we ignore her. Then, she pees on the dh's shoes. This morning was no different! I swear, if she wasn't so old, I'd send her to her grave sooner! Don't get me wrong, I love my cat, but I totally detest stepping into a puddle of cat pee!
Hence, this was how my morning started.
Getting Syd ready for school and off to school was good, as normal.
Only, when I come home, as I have to kill time, I look across the tile floor and what do I see? A darn roach lying there! With all the rain we have been having again, these stupid things have been getting on the back porch and in the garage. And, if I mistakenly open one door and leave said door open for a bit, I get the bug. Well, I chalk this darned roach up to me opening the back door to see what the ruckus in my backyard was last night!
Now, said, stupid roach is lying there on it's back. Still. Not moving. Not until I gently blow on it! STUPID, STUPID me! Well, it started moving like crazy, but hey, at least it didn't (or couldn't) crawl away. It's just lying there on it's back, freaking out!
Let me set the record straight here. I am not scared of bugs. But one of my least favorite things is having to squish a bug with my hand and feeling the CRUNCH of said bug.
Again, not how I wanted to start my morning. SOOOO...... I go outside and grab this bug spray and squirt the roach, who then proceeds to freak out and flail it's arms/legs everywhere. But :D not walking anywhere. Sorry, this is how I left said roach. Left it to just slowly die in the corner of my tile floor. I'll just pick it up with a napkin later.
And, by the way, I just looked over at the darned thing as I am typing this, and he is STILL moving!! Apparently, the bug spray I bought isn't that good because I saturated the roach about ten minutes ago! I'm leaving that stupid thing there unless DH wants to pick it up.
Now, I am off to start said day. Still need to get Bo to school. Then, I have to rush around and pick up a few things and clean my car. Then, I have to pick up my mom around 1:00 or 2:00 (can't remember what time, actually). Then, I am off to the airport to pick up my aunt, uncle, and two cousins, who are arriving for a week visit. Did I mention that they live in Hong Kong, and I haven't seen them in 8 years? Then,....
Ha! Just kidding. I think I'm done.
Have a great day, girlies!
*** edited approximately ten minutes after I published this new post: ok. Couldn't take it. Disgusting bug on my floor. I picked it up with a paper towel and disposed of it. Then, cleaned the area with Lysol wipes. Then, I mopped the whole area with my sanitizing steam mop! A little overkill? LOL!

Delving into one's "inner" self...

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

I admit, I have a difficult time brushing my teeth. Not because I'm lazy or don't want to. It's just since my second pregnancy, brushing my teeth makes me gag. It's just not a pretty sight.

Well, tonight as I brushing my teeth, as usual, I experienced that wonderful sensation. Apparently, my face looked distorted. Who knows?! I can't honestly say, I watch my facial expressions as I am gagging over toothpaste.

Bo looks at me and asks, "Mommy, why did you make that face? You know, the one where your eyes go up like you're looking into your brain?"

Hmm. I guess that's an interesting outlook on that experience....

The little guy

Sunday, July 19, 2009

This is my other nephew, Hagan. He's, oh, about 5 months old now. And, I'm a bad aunt....I really haven't taken any pictures of him. Why? Because there are always people around. He's always being passed from one family member to another. He has goofy hair :D I swear, his hair sticks up everywhere! It's the wierdest thing! And, yes, he's a chubba-wubba. He was at the doctor's about two weeks ago, and the boy weighs over 20 pounds! Yes, you read that right. He's a big boy!

Bo calls him "Mr. Angrypants" or "Mr. Madpants", as he always seems to be in a snit about something. But more recently, Mr. Angrypants is becoming a little happier, and my sister is also a little happier!

Ode to my friend, Julieta

Thursday, July 16, 2009

I made a friend on my blog. Her name is Julieta, and she is from Argentina. What do we have in common? Well, we can't wait until New Moon comes out, and it seems we have some similar tastes in music. She introduced me to Shakira's new song, She Wolf. Except on Julieta's blog, Shakira was singing in Spanish, and I admit, I could not understand what Shakira was singing. But, I did find it in English, and I added it to my blog. Love the song!! Thanks Julieta!

Oh, and did I mention? We apparently admire Rob Pattinson/Edward Cullen!

Apparently, Mattel is jumping on the Twilight kick, and I couldn't be happier! At least, I have two little girls, who love playing with Barbies. I have an excuse!!
