I'm back....

Cabo San Lucos....
That is where I was last week.
This was the view from my hotel room. Alas, I have the life.
It was a much needed vacation. Plenty of relaxation.
And, I swear, I drank more this past week than I've drank in the last
TEN YEARS!!
Yes, you read that right.
:D
But, I drank responsibly.
I also learned how to make killer guacamole from scratch. Yum!
Real, authentic guacamole and salsa verde are to die for!

I had a blast!! We ate at Mi Casa one night, and then partied at
the Cabo Wabo Cantina later that night!
For anyone who is not aware....
the Cabo Wabo Cantina is the bar that
Sammy Hagar (formerly of Van Halen) owns.
They make the BEST Midori sours there!!
And the house band......
Well, they rocked!!!

I really had mixed feelings about coming back.
I was so relaxed, but I missed my girls terribly....
SO glad to be back. Alas, I now have a week of work....
THEN
I'm leaving for Key West!

It truly sucks not to be me!!!

Thankful Friday

Friday, May 7, 2010

My friend, Yvonne, had a great idea. Not that she doesn't have them, but
this one is a good one.
She's blogging once a week about 5 things she is thankful for.
And, I will try (we know how that goes).
I am always thankful for my friends and family. You all mean so much to me, BUT...
I admit, I'm not going to bring you up every week.
If I do, I'm afraid no one will want to read my blog anymore because
they'll be SO sick of reading about you! :D
This week, I am thankful for:
- a good meeting on Monday,
- being able to go and see Alice in Wonderland, AGAIN, with daughter #2,
- an uneventful visit to the dentist with Bo,
- actually being able to sleep through the night,
AND
- finding out I am going to Cabo San Lucos on an ALL EXPENSE paid trip in one month!!!
(tell me this one isn't the best?)

The boy cousins

Monday, April 19, 2010

These boys are my nephews
(minus 1, but he's very uncooperative. He's 1...that should explain it.)
All of them are very well minded and respectful.
Full of mischief and a zest for life.
Most of all, they are friends.
I love each and every one of them!

It's a beautiful day!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Ever feel like life is crashing down on you? I seem to have those days ALL the time!
But, today.
Ah, today was a great day!
I got SO much accomplished. I feel refreshed and revitalized.
There is a light at the end of my tunnel.
I have been in "limbo" for so long,
and
it's such a nice feeling to realize that life does go on
(and I mean this in a good way).

I spent the weekend at the beach with my girls, my sisters, and their families.
Eight children.
YES.
EIGHT children went.
Everything is so much more intense with eight kids around.
They cry.
They whine.
They fight.
They spill things....everywhere.
And, yet, it was a very relaxing time.
Totally enjoyed the beach.
Soaked up some rays.
Had very stimulating conversations.
Watched kids.
Took pictures.
Searched for seashells.
And, took LOTS of pictures.
Like over 350 pictures!!!
(will post some of these at a later time, as they are a "surprise")

All in all,
I had a GREAT day!

It's been a long time

Monday, March 15, 2010

Wow!
Can you believe it's been over a month since i posted? (OK, girls, I KNOW you believe it, but, hey,
give me a break here!)

Went out with some friends this past weekend. Celebrated Lisa's birthday! Had a blast! Starting to feel free and exhilarated! So many things going on!

Hate the daylight savings time. Ok, I really like the fact that it's lighter later, but HATE the fact
that I lose an hours of sleep.
And, if that isn't bad enough, Bo is sick.
Fever. Chills.
Sore throat.
I was up all night with her last night. Poor thing.
When I finally fell asleep, I woke up about a half hour later and checked on her.
She was awake. Lying in bed. Smiling.
Playing with her stuffed rabbit, Hobby Lobby
(the rabbit's name is a whole other story).

Went to Atlanta a few weeks ago with my friend, Lisa!
WOW!
What an absolutely beautiful city!!
Ate some wonderful Mexican and Italian food.
Window shopped.
Went to a 3-story Target for diapers (a birthday present for
my 1-year-old nephew ~ this was a request from his
mother, my sister).
Was going to learn some new things in Photoshop from
Lisa's sister, Kristen, but she got sick while we were up there.
Major bummer!
However, we plan to go back up there in the near future.

Otherwise, not much else going on here.
The girls are doing good in school.
Work is work (enough said).
Life is good.
And, I'm happy!
Happier than I have been in the last few years.
I feel as if a heavy burden has been lifted off of my shoulders, and
I'm learning to be me again, and I'm loving it!!!

The NoT-so-ChriStmas PiC

Sunday, January 31, 2010

For those of you who know me, you KNOW I take annual Christmas picture!
I have taken these pictures
EVERY YEAR
since Syd was born.

This year, I just couldn't seem to muster up the enthusiasm to take the picture
BEFORE Christmas. And, I admit, it was either
TOO COLD,
TOO RAINY,
or
the kids were TOO SICK
to take the picture.

So, on the one nice day, we had on New Year's Eve,
I
FINALLY
got their pictures taken!

And,
THIS
is what I came up with!

BURPS AND KISSEY-LIKE

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I picked up Bo from school today.

Bo: "Mommy? Do you know what happens to burps when they're done?"
Me: "Um, no."
Bo: "They go up into your mouth and then into your brain! That's why you act goofy sometime!!"

Then, when I picked Syd up from school today, I got enlightened.

Apparently, Syd's friends, Gabby and Kaitlin, got into a fight on the playground today. When I asked Syd what it was about, she said it was over a boy Gabby liked.

Syd: "Gabby just doesn't like him. She kissey-likes him!"

Kissey likes? Per Syd, there is a difference if you just like someone versus if you kissey-like someone.
